Particle board is a cost-effective material that resists warping under controlled temperature/humidity conditions. A knot and crack free surface with a consistent thickness and size, it's easy to cut and drill for any project. Particle board is easily cut with a high tooth count blade, typically 60-80 teeth minimum, for the cleanest cut. When cutting laminate or melamine, use a laminate/melamine blade for the smoothest edge finish, and always cut with the finished side toward the blade.
Deciding between laminated panels and melamine panels depends on the use and location. Melamine panels are typically more durable and scratch resistant, good for use in higher traffic areas.

Dakota peel and stick edge banding is available in most finishes near shelving at Menards. Available in 3/4" width, use as is, or trim with an edge trimmer. Use it to protect the edges of shelves, Dakota closets, handipanels, and more. Shop edge banding.
